Pony Club Tetrathlon

As some members will remember an email was sent out after the 2012 London Olympics asking if people were interested in SDHE branch starting doing Tetrathlon again. As a Mum of two boys I am very keen to see this idea being progresses and would like to meet up with any like minded parents/members who could help me to get some training organised over the winter.

 

Discussions have already taken place about a possible venue for shooting practice and possible instructors. If anyone has any suggestions about a venue & instructor for swimming practice that would be very helpful.

FREE PONY RACING TASTER DAY

LINGFIELD RACE COURSE

28^TH October 2014

 

Fabulous opportunity for member to have a taster of pony racing

 

 

The day starts off with the 'Get the Buzz Morning' at 10.30 am. The children will be split into groups and will then take part in 3 different sessions for about 30 minutes each session. The sessions will include:

·  Equicisor

·  Fitness and Balance Session

·  Demonstration of tack and equipment needed for pony racing and general information on pony racing.

 

The first pony race will start at 12 pm, followed by 5 further races. Refreshments will be available to buy.

 

There are no charges involved for either the 'Get the Buzz Morning' or to watch the racing.

 

Please send names, ages of members and the contact details of parents,  this is so the riders can be split into age groups and in case parents are needed in an emergency.

 

Please email Helenkaya@harpercraven.com if you would like to attend the taster day by Thursday 23^rd October 2014, so I can pass the details onto the pony racing organisers.  Or you can text or ring me on 07989 650634. Please don't use my home phone as there is a fault on the line….

 

This looks and sounds to be a fun packed day for everyone.  We already have a group of us going from the branch and it would be fantastic if more members could come along.

I bought Blackberry (from Royal Alexandra and Albert School, Reigate) in June for my daughters (6 & 8) 1st pony - he's a lovely person, but very much a 2nd pony!  Plus, needs more time than I can give him at the moment, and my children are less keen than I thought.

Doesn't pull, snaffle mouth, but keen and forward going.  Can prove himself show jumping, cross country and dressage. He is used to a working disciplined environment (at Royal Alexandra for 2 years and a trekking centre in Wales before that) - this lovely pony needs to be with a keen Pony Club family and used lots, he's intelligent and wants to get on with life.  

Can cope living alone if he has some love, but I think he would prefer company. Needs a capable, competent little rider that's keen to jump.

Ideally I would prefer to loan (has to be to the right family) for 1 > 2years, BUT I would consider selling, if you felt you were the right family and have a very keen, horsey, confident child.  I will also consider a swap for a 11.2hh / 12hh 15 year old plodding school master / mistress - which is what I should have got in the first place!

Due to popular demand, there is going to be a Halloween themed Mounted Games Rally on 31st October from 2pm-3:30pm at Firle Place. I believe it will be in the indoor arena. It will cost £7.50 per person. Please send names to me by October 25th.

Mini-mini and mini show jumping 9th November from Hazel

East Sussex Pony Club are holding team and individual show jumping at Golden Cross on Sunday 9th November. Please let me know by Friday 17th October if you would like to be entered as an individual or be considered for a team.

 

Class 1 Mini Mini Pony Club Team and Individual Jumping

This class is for genuine novices and therefore riders must be 10 years or under on the day of the show.
Assistance in his class may be given in accordance with rule 2 Jumps approx. 1'6- 1'9 / 45-55 cm.

Entry Fee: £10 Ind/£40 per team. £2 first aid per rider.

Class 2 Mini Pony Club Team and Individual Jumping
2a Riders must be 12 years or under on the day of the show. 2b For Individual riders 13 years and over on day of show. Combinations (rider and pony) should not have won more than £30 show jumping or represented their Branch at Novice Area show jumping Jumps approx. 2'– 2'3" / 65-70 cm

A Massive thank you

Hi Everyone

 

Can I say a big thank you to everyone who helped last Sunday at the ode and all through the year. We have had a successful season with every event going ahead. 

 

It does take a lot of people to run these events so if anyone would like to come and join our events committee we would be very grateful, I will send out the details of the next meeting and hopefully we will see some of you there ( The Meetings are always in a Pub !!!!! )

 

The first event of 2015 in the 2 day Interbranch Show Jumping Show on Jan 17th/18th. Very kindly Nicky Currie has already offered to help me with the food to keep all the helpers fed and warm during the two days so please keep these dates free if possible to come and help even if only for a few hours.
