All horses and riders are to be immaculate in their turn out – clean ponies and clean plain tack (no bling!) Riders to wear pony club sweatshirt and tie, white shirt, beige jodphurs, boots and chaps, gloves and hairnets for the girls.  If your hat is not tagged, I can do it for you on the day.

This rally is not just a lesson, but also  an assessment to see what standard you and your pony are at  in order to place you in the correct riding group at camp – it also gives us a chance to pair up people at similar standards and also a chance for you to meet fellow campers. In addition it gives us a chance to make sure your hat is up to standard and tagged as well as checking your tack is in good condition, with no stitching coming undone, and fits your pony correctly.  I hope you all have a fun time and look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

All day rally at South Brockwells - 17th August

Hi

Please note that there will be an all day rally at South Brockwells Farm

17th August 2018

10am to 3pm

To Include:

  1. Showjumping
  2. Dressage
  3. Cross Country
  4. Stable Management
  5. BBQ, Drinks, nibbles
  6. Plus a surprise demonstration/talk

Each of the top 4 numbered points will last for 1 hour.  The aim is to have no more than 6 riders in each group, and for the groups to be split into ability.  This day is open to all ages and abilities.

This is a lovely cross country course and has been designed for every ability from those jumping cross-poles on the first hole up to 90cms.  There are banks, steps and many other interesting and exciting fences and they have been made so not matter what age or ability you are, you can have a go.  It will be an ideal day to get you and your pony ready for the Margaret Sheffield ODE in September.

If you have very young children who you feel would not be able to cope with 3 hours of riding, if there are sufficient numbers I can do a shorter day for them at a reduced price.  So please contact me if you would like this option.  Although having already attended Mini camp I'm sure they will be buzzing to do another day with their friends and ponies.

The fee for this will be £55 payable to SDHEPC, which will also include a BBQ and drinks throughout the day and hire of the venue.

I currently have 4 instructors booked, and one on hold.  If this is as popular as in previous years I may need to recruit some more instructors so please can you submit your rally forms and payments by bacs or cheques to me ASAP, in order to give me time to find additional instructors.  I'm happy to receive rally forms and bacs payment advices by email to helenkaya@harpercraven.com .  If you would prefer to post me your rally form and a cheque or remittance please send it to: Helen Burgess, 83 Eastbourne Road, Lower Willingdon, Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN20 9NR

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE can you be as accurate as you can on your child's and pony's ability on the rally form so that the riders are put into the best groups so the children can all gain maximum benefit from the day.

If you would like to stay and have a BBQ too there will be a small fee for the cost of a Burger or Sausage etc.  If you could confirm how many extra BBQ's you would like I can ensure that I don't run out!!

If you have any queries or require any further information please don't hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you on the 17th August, if not before at camp.

Kind Regards

Helen

The jumping rally at Chelwood Equestrian on Tuesday 29th May is now FULL and a waiting list is in operation.

Candy & Emily

Hunter Trials and CDMS ODE

I would like to thank everyone who helped at the hunter trials on Sunday. It was a good day despite all the rain on Saturday and a few vehicles getting stuck in the morning. The ground dried up really well as the day went on and I think we cleared up in record time. The saying 'many hands make light work' really is true!! Our next event is on Sunday 10th June, the CDMS Horse Trials. Please get your entries in early as numbers will be limited for this event. We also need a lot of helpers for this event so if you can spare a few hours, please put your name down. Anne

Can anyone help with transport to a Camp setting rally?

New member Cydney Lawrence has a problem getting to a Camp Setting rally (not May 19th).  She's based at Wooler's Liveries, Golf Course Farm, South Road, Wivelsfield Green.  If anyone has a space in a trailer, or would be willing to consider letting her Dad borrow a trailer, that would be very much appreciated.

If you are able to help please contact Paul Lawrence plawrence1969@gmail.com

Groups and times for camp setting rally at Chelwood 19th May 2018

Saturday 19th May 2018

These are the groups and times for the above rally – I have tried my best to accommodate those with special request for times, travelling partners and siblings. Please can I ask that you all stick to your allocated time.  This rally will take place in the outdoor school.

10.00

Izzy Jeffrey – Monty

Jessica May Taylor – Inca

Jessie Marin – Brody

Charley Poulton -

11.00

Emma Bowyer – Aggie

Ellie Mileham – Tilly

Phoebe Taylor – Red

Amy Newton -

Please could you arrive in plenty of time for your allocated slot and be mounted ready to rock 'n roll!

Please do not leave ponies unattended tied up to boxes, and please clear up ALL droppings and any spilt hay.

Help needed Thursday evening and on Sunday with our Hunter Trial at Wivelsden PLEASE

We are still in need of help with our Hunter Trial taking place at Wivelsden this Sunday, 13th May.

Thursday evening  - help needed with roping the course from 6.00

On Sunday we are looking for:

Collecting ring stewards to cover from 8.30 until 2.00 – can be split into shifts to suit around competing – anything will help!

Car Park Steward – 7.45 for a couple of hours to get the parking sorted

For the above please call/text Anne 07795 547712

Fence Judges – AM and PM, lots still needed to ensure this event can go ahead. You will get fed and watered and have a chance to sit in the sunshine enjoying the jumping and  catch up with friends. This is good fun, children can help parents and make it a pleasant family day out.

Please contact Sally Harper who co-ordinates the fence judges  07753 777072

Please remember it is a condition of competing that you provide help with our event, either yourself or a nominee. In previous years it has been a condition of attending camp that help is provided at these events, and we may have to revert back to this if help is not forthcoming via goodwill.

Without this help we will be unable to run this event.  All our events raise funds to keep the cost of rallies and camps to a minimum.
