Branch One Day Event 30th June Help Needed please

Hello Everyone

Following on from the success of our Hunter Trials, planning is well under way for the first One Day Event of the season which takes place 3 weeks today.

As always, we need help from friends, parents and members in order to run our events properly, and many hands really do make light work. I'm writing to you as an ongoing member / Member's parent to see if you can help.

Your help can come in many ways

Help us to set up beforehand, putting out safety ropes and poles, flagging the course, and helping to create  the rings, putting down the dressage markers and putting up our new marquee to protect us from the rain (or hopefully sun) on the day.

Come along and fence judge for us on the day. This can be a whole day, or a morning\afternoon session.  This is a really important, but simple to learn, job.  We really cannot run our event without the people who sit by each jump ensuring that every rider gets over safely. You have to be over 16 to do this by yourself, but bring your youngsters with you and let them see what the day is all about.  They can help you in your job, and you just tick the boxes.  It's fun and we'll make sure you're fed and watered while you help.

Help on the day as a steward, dressage writer, show jumping arena party, assistant scorer,

Help on the day to look after all our helpers! We need someone to come round and take refreshments to our helpers to make sure they are fed and looked after throughout the day.  Bake a cake or something savoury to keep the helpers sustained during the day.

We need help with car parking on the day to make sure that we can fit in all our vehicles and make sure everyone knows where they should go.

Stay behind for a little while or come back later to help put all the ropes/posts/tent etc away.

It's a long day and every offer of help really is very much appreciated.  Please do try and help in some way even if it's around helping your child to complete on the day.

If you'd like to help, please in the first instance contact Sally Harper who is our volunteers coordinator.

Can't wait to hear from you!

Area showjumping - from Candy

Area 11 show jumping is being hosted by East Sussex Pony Club at Golden Cross on the weekend of 20th & 21st July.

The schedule has not yet been released!  However I have been told that the 80cm grass roots and Intermediate classes will be run on the Saturday and the Novice and Open classes on the Sunday.

Full eligibility rules for each class will follow as soon as I have the schedule, however I am keen to get organised and ask anyone who would be interested in representing their branch in any of these classes to let me know by 9th June to set the wheels in motion.

The main criteria at this point is that you have attended 3 jumping rallies in the current year and were a paid up member of the branch by 28th February 2019, except in the case of the grass roots class when you are able to join after this date and be eligible.

Hoping we can send several teams and look forward to hearing from you.
