Fence judges needed please for ODE 19th July
We are holding our next One Day Event, kindly sponsored by Baldocks of Wivelsfield, on Sunday 19th July at Wivelsden Farm and hope to see lots of SDHE members there having a fabulous time.
To enable this event to be held we will need fences judges – lots!!! Experience is not needed as you will be shown what to do and you also get fed. Claire Fry is co-ordinating fence judges, so please contact Claire on 07729 880293 or clairemfry@hotmail.co.uk with your offers of help. Any time you can give will be much appreciated whether it be AM, PM, a couple of hours or all day! Once the entries close and the times have been worked out, Claire will be able to contact you with the times she would like you to cover if possible.
Without fence judges the event cannot take place.
Plea No 2 is for volunteers to make delicious cakes with which to feed our fence judges and those who work behind the scenes – please leave with Claire in the fence judges marquee.
Hoping we get lots of offers to help with the above and enable our members to have an enjoyable day.
Thanking you all in advance.

Earrings and piercings
Please read carefully and inwardly digest the message below from Martin Wright, PC Area Coordinator, about the rule concerning earrings and piercings while riding. This is a completely non-negotiable subject and the rules will be strictly enforced at all our activities. Don't say you didn't know! Mike
Dear all,
As the mounted area competitions start this weekend, and I have been asked by a couple of confused parents recently, I thought I would remind everyone of the Pony Club rules regarding earrings (and any other piercings).
The rule is very simple - these are not allowed in any form, at all, at any rally, camp or competition; regardless of tapes, plasters or anything else and riders will have to remove them before riding. The rule book states:
"No jewelry is allowed for safety reasons, other than a wristwatch, a wedding ring, a stock pin worn horizontally or a tie clip. It is recommended that stock pins are removed for cross country. Members who are contemplating piercing their ears or any other part of their body should be aware that they will not be allowed to participate in any Pony Club mounted equestrian activity until such time as the "sleepers" can be safely removed. The reason for this is that sleepers have in the past caused injuries following falls."

13.2 competition school master for LOAN
Please note that circulation of this advertisement by the Pony Club does not imply any endorsement or warranty of any kind.
Much loved 20 yr old Welsh section B schoolmaster for loan. Arnie has competed at county level M&M workers, eventing and Pony Club.
He has had a suspensory injury a couple of years ago, after some time off he has been given the all clear and been in a Pony Club home since that.
He is good to hack, shoe, box etc. He has attended numerous rallies, shows and camps. Has been on various Pony Club teams, most recently mini-mini show jumping.
Will hack alone or in company. Goes in a pelham or snaffle. Perfect for a teenager looking for a competition pony that really knows his job.
