BIG THANKS

Sorry this is a bit late but I would like to thank everyone who helped at the One Day Event at Wivelsden last Sunday. It was a super day, lovely weather and the ground was great. However, we had a real problem finding helpers this time. We run these events to raise funds for the branch to subsidise rallies and buy new equipment and jumps but we cannot run them without your help. The next event is the branch show on Sunday 16 July at Plumpton Racecourse. The schedule is on the pony club website so please have a look. We also have another hunter trials on 10 September and Mini One Day Event on 24 September. Thanks Anne

Please could you arrive in plenty of time for your allocated slot and be mounted ready to rock 'n roll! The rallies are all being held in the outdoor arena.

Chelwood Equestrian is located on the road between Nutley and Chelwood Gate and the entrance is on the right hand side, on the sharp bend about .5 mile from the Chelwood Gate end, and signposted Chelwood Farm. Drive slowly down the lane, keep to the right and the farm is through the double wooden gates. Lorry parking is behind the main buildings (lots of room!)

Once mounted, come back to the wooden gates at the entrance, bear left beside the barn usually housing a large horse lorry, down the slope to access the school.

All horses and riders are to be immaculate in their turn out – clean ponies and clean plain tack (no bling!) Riders to wear pony club sweatshirt and tie, white shirt, beige jodphurs, boots and chaps, gloves and hairnets for the girls.  If your hat is not tagged, I can do it for you on the day.

Please do not leave ponies unattended tied up to boxes, and please clear up droppings and any spilt hay.

This rally is not a lesson in itself, but an assessment to see what standard you and your pony are at  in order to place you in the correct riding group at camp – it also gives us a chance to pair up people at similar standards and also a chance for you to meet fellow campers.  I hope you all have a fun time and look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

The field access to Birches farm is a turning off the Lewes Road very close to the speed sign. The turning is by a pair of cottages almost opposite Boathouse farm; this turning is through an open gate " Whiteoaks". The next turning is immediately on your left in to our field. There should be a white filler with stars on it marking the road junction.

Please text in advance if any assistance is needed with directions. 07789992810. Do not call at the time as there is insufficient mobile signal for me to be able to help you. Thank you.

SEVERE LACK OF HELPERS FOR OUR ODE THIS SUNDAY

Hello everyone AGAIN. So far, following several requests we have 10 volunteers to fence judge at the ODE on Sunday. We cannot allow riders to jump the course without the proper number of judges to make sure that all riders are safe and so if we don't get enough numbers then this event cannot go ahead. PLEASE try to give up some time for us this weekend. Morning or afternoon. It will be much appreciated and we will look after you with refreshments. Looking forward to hearing from you all. ?? Sally Sallyannharper@me.com 07753777072

HELP is urgently needed to enable our ODE to go ahead this Sunday - PLEASE

Email Anne c.cook578@btinternet.com or text/ring 07795547712. Please please can you come forward and help on Sunday. As things stand at the moment we will not be able to run the event. We need tack checkers and stewards to cover the three disciplines, not just fence judges. We run these events to subsidise rallies and buy new equipment which benefits all our members. The committee give up a tremendous amount of time organising our events but we can't do it all on our own. I have had a lot offers of help for this evening which is great. But we need the following on Sunday- 3 tack checkers AM and PM. 3 stewards AM and PM I look forward to hearing from you. Anne Sent from my iPhone

ATTENTION SENIOR CAMPERS - ACTION NEEDED!

ATTENTION SENIOR CAMPERS!

All camp forms should have been returned in full with payment by 1st June.

Out of 71 campers, 10 have returned no forms at all, and 24 have sent incomplete paperwork, with 22 owing fees!!!

Senior camp is a very complex thing to organise and we need you to return these forms on time so arrangements can continue to be put in place.  Once all forms have been received the riding groups can be sorted, this will then determine which day campers go to Wivelsden cross country and those who have kindly offered to drive can be notified in advance which also is a knock on effect for the kitchen help rota which can't be organized until all information is received……………………………..

It also gives time for any flu vaccinations that are invalid to be put in place, and yes we have had several of those already.

Please, please, please can I have your forms by return as by helping us you are helping yourselves!

Please could the following campers contact me by the end of today (6th June) to confirm you still wish to have your place at camp and forms to be delivered to me immediately.

Ellen Collyer

Rumer Crawford

Amelia Easton

Sophie Etherington

Sadie Jackson

Maddie Owen

Abbie Pollard

Thankyou to all those that have returned forms in full, it makes my job so much easier and more time for drinking wine!

Fence judges urgently wanted for our ODE this Sunday to make the event run!

Hello everyone Following the fab response to requests for volunteers at the Hunter trials last month, I've had a very disappointing response to my hunt for fence judges at the One Day event this coming weekend. We have so far 2 volunteers to fence Judge and need 22 for the whole day, so if people volunteer to do half a day each 44! We cannot hold the event without the help of pony club members and parents and so I need to know today or tomorrow if you are able to help. Unlike the Earlier event, all entries to the ODE are given a time for their Cross country round so we will have a very good idea of when we will need you. Please do volunteer Asap so that we can run this event and raise money for the upcoming camps and rallies over the summer. Thanks in advance for your help. Sally Sallyannharper@me.com 07753777072
