Please could you circulate for me.

It would be good to have a few more entries for the Mid Surrey TET on Sun 23rd April. Riding can be done on Sat 22nd as an option.

So far I have:

Class 8 (8&under on day if show) 

Arabella Goodwin (jumping on 22nd)

Florence Goodwin (jumping on 22nd)

Need at least one more for a team. Great fun!

Class 4 (mini boys)

There are Tri classes for all ages if siblings wish to compete but not ride. These classes are also good for children without a suitable pony.

This a very friendly event and the jumps aren't big at all. Alternative options available on XC. Younger classes ride in arena.

Tetrathlon

Well done to Ellie Taylor who put in a good effort last weekend to come 7^th in the Junior girl section at OS&B TET. Congratulations to my son who won his section.

For those new to TET the Mid Surrey event on 23^rd April is a very good starting event with an enclosed area for the 10&under classes and lots of options on the XC course. Both my sons will be there. Join us!

We are still joining OS&B Pony Club for there shoot training swim training at Cumnor House School is now run by Area11.

 

Thursdays

There are weekly shooting practices at Taylor's Gun Club in East Court, every Thursday from 5.30pm until 7.30pm. Guns, pellets and targets are provided. Complete beginners are welcome as full training is given but please ring Margaret Allday (margaretallday41@gmail.com) first. Children must be 8 yrs old or over. There is a pool table too!

 

Fridays

There are weekly swimming practices on Friday evenings 6:15-7:15pm. They are run by Emily Miles (Bright) who is a past OS&B member, a medal winner at Junior & Senior World Championship level in Modern Pentathlon, and one of four National Pony Club Tetrathlon Mentors.

 

This swimming is now under the Area 11 umbrella, so open to any S.D.H.E. members that may wish to attend. If anyone wants to come Margaret, from OS&B, would be grateful if they could let her know as she needs to know names in advance in case there is a problem and she needs to contact them and save them a journey. Please book in with Margaret Allday (margaretallday41@gmail.com) first. Cost £9 for an hour's lesson.

 

Eventing training rallies - from Claire Fry

Hi Everyone

Sorry for the delay but it has been frustrating sorting the Easter Hols out because of the different dates.

Anyway there will be 2 rallies over easter

Saturday 15th April in the afternoon at Oakfields, all ages and standards. This will concentrate on The Eventing Dressage tests which are used at all pony club events we might send teams to. If the weather is good to us you will also go straight out to the field and showjump to !!

I will let you know nearer the time if we can jump.

The next is XC Schooling

Saturday 22nd at Home Farm Crowborough.

I will have 3 groups with 4/5 members in each. Times will be sent out nearer the date. Sorry about that but I need to see what interest I get.

Height ranges from 55 to 90 cm. Groups will be arranged accordingly.

This rally will be £15 cash for the course on the day and £10 sent to me to cover the instruction.

Please can everyone send me your forms and money asap as the xc will be done on a first come first served basics.

Ride & Road Safety

Ride & Road Safety

 

With spring and summer fast approaching (yay) tests begin to take place. Pony club recently have made several changes to what is required before you can take some tests. One change is to when ride and road safety awards are taken. 

 

If you are starting out and are looking to take your D test the mini achievement badge is required. 

 

In order to take the C test children who have completed their D+ need to take (and pass) their Road Safety achievement badge.

All awards will involve an unmounted session, mounted training and then for the achievement badge (not mini), a test. 

 

If your child needs to complete these awards please contact me so I can compile a list. 

 

We have 2 dates secured and places will be limited so please get forms and payment back to me asap. 

 

Wednesday 12th April - Afternoon @ South Brockwells Farm, Nr Lewes.

 

Tuesday 30th May - Morning @ Vixengrove Farm, Chailey.

Do you spend your weeknights and weekends ferrying teens to Pony Club events, School activities and nights out? The Pony Club Office has today been approached by a TV production company who are looking into making a brand new Prime Time TV program called Taxi of Mum and Dad. Looking at the joys and challenges of parenting teens in the family vehicle (via a small car rig) the production company want to film families in their cars going about their everyday lives. They are looking for fun families with at least one child aged 13+ and you must be a car owning family. Filming is due to take place in April 2017.
