C and C+ tests from Hazel

Dear All,

 

Thank you to everyone who responded to my previous email, it is so lovely to see that so many of you are wanting to work towards your C test.

 

I have arranged for two test dates, Saturday 30th September 2017 and Saturday 7th April 2018.

 

Polly is also busy trying to secure a C+ date for those who wish to take their test this autumn.

 

So far I have arranged for the following training sessions for C and C+ to take place (venue to be confirmed asap) - Saturday 12th August Friday 25th August Friday 1st September Saturday 23rd September

 

All of these sessions will include both riding and stable management. On Friday 25th August there will also be a Riding and Road Safety session for those who have not yet completed their badge, this is an entry requirement for the C test.

Upcoming games & working hunter rallies and picnic ride

Please come along if you want to have a go at the games.  We have been invited to a number of double and individual competitions from September onwards throughout the winter.  It would be lovely if we can get people along to these sessions and be ready to put a team forward in the spring.  This is open to all ages and levels of riding.  The children get very excited and cheer each other on.

Senior Camp - IMPORTANT

Senior Campers - please remember to bring the passport with flu vaccination record for your horse to camp on Saturday and have it with you for checking at the vet inspection - it will be retained and returned to you on the last day of camp.

Please wear sensible footwear for the inspection (no flip flops!) and remember to trot your horse away from the vet in a straight line, correctly turn away from you and then trot back in a straight line before carrying on for the farrier inspection. If all is Ok you will then be directed to the stable yard via the horse walk at the side of the racecourse and NOT up the main drive to avoid traffic and luggage!

senior Camp: Showjumping set-up

It's that time of year again and I'm calling on anyone who's available to help put the show jumps out for camp please!!

All leaders and assistants can help too please!

If we meet at the centre of the racecourse from 1.30 pm [on Friday 28/7] please and the jumps are all there so just a case of unloading and setting up....she says!!

Please be patient once there as can get bit chaotic with many trailers of jumps and feet etc.. so bear with me, I'll do my best to find out what goes with what!

Providing lunches for staff at Junior camp - please reply to Debbie Cole

Pony Club Junior Camp 2017 – Lunches for Organisers & Instructors.

 

 

Dear Junior Camp Parents & Guardians,

 

We need to arrange for light lunches & dessert to be provided for the wonderful team of 8 who look after and tutor our children whilst they are at Junior Camp. As there is nothing provided for them at Plumpton Racecourse.

 

I am looking for volunteers each day to take in lunches when they drop the children & pony off.  It needs to be filling, but cold (as there is no way of re-heating anything) and obviously easy to transport ! I am told there is a small fridge to keep things chilled each day. It would be great if we can share it out between us so we all do a little, rather than having to provide everything.

 

Suggestions of meal idea's are: Quiche & Salad, Open sandwiches, Coronation Chicken etc. Then some sort of cake/muffin for pud.

 

Sally Harper (Lily's mum) has offered to do the lunch for the first day and I have had another offer of Lemon Drizzle & Brownies (but can not remember the mum's name !)

Windmill Saddlery at Cross In Hand are having their annual 20% discount evening for Pony Club members this Thursday, 20th July from 3.30 - 8.00.

This is the perfect time to get those items on your camp lists or just take Mum for an evening out!

Please take your rally card/membership card or a copy of your camp letter to prove membership and be entitled to the 20%

I will make sure you are all feed and watered tomorrow but please could you all bring Mugs and maybe Plates, Bowls and Cutlery like you did for the Winter Showjump Show. 

 

We have got some but it really helps and saves the Pony Club lots of money ( which is better spent on the children )

Branch Show this weekend - help needed please

Our BRANCH SHOW is this Sunday, 16 July, at Plumpton Racecourse, which I hope you are all going to come along to.    We need help setting up on Saturday from 12 noon so if you can spare a couple of hours please do come along. Help with transporting a pony to our Branch Show needed please

Hi is anyone traveling from forest row area to plumpton for the pony club show on 16 th July, that would have room for a 11.2 Dartmoor, myself and my grandson please, I have unfortunately broken my wrist so can't drive, of course I will pay petrol and provide lunch for all, thanks very much I can be contacted on rachglyn@icloud.com or 07746826481.

second hand jackets and cream jods wanted for camp -

Branch Show

Our traditional Branch Show is taking place on Sunday 16th July at Plumpton Racecourse - schedule is available on our website - classes for all ages, abilities, shapes and sizes. Please come and support this great fund raising show - all profit goes back into the branch to keep rallies at a subsidized cost and to buy new equipment such as jumps that we all enjoy using.

We will also be asking for help setting up on the Saturday and dismantling on the Sunday afternoon. Even if you are unable to compete, please come and help - many hands make light work!
