Due to low numbers,  I'm afraid i have had to reduce the rally to just an hour.

Horses are not to be left unattended tied to trailers/lorries.

Sonia will be instructing and any help to put the jumps away at the end would be greatly appreciated!

New dressage series - replies to Bryony Payne

We are excited to announce a new dressage series starting next month aimed at encouraging all of our members to have a go at Dressage.

 

Whilst dressage is often seen as the least exciting part of eventing, it's amazing how having some basic knowledge can make all the difference to a ODE placing, knowing how to ride the perfect circle, the straightest centre line or even just riding your corners will earn you higher marks and is so easy to achieve.

 

The  series will start on 7^th October at Chelwood Gate Equestrian Centre (indoor arena) with PC Instructor Briosa Guinaraes and the focus will be on how the horse is moving and how the rider can influence this.

 

Further details on the rest of the series will be issued shortly.

 

There are currently spaces available in the morning sessions.

 

Please let me know if you wish to take part, giving details of your current riding ability so I can arrange in appropriate groups.

 

Your place will not be confirmed until I have received a booking form and payment/ evidence of money transfer.

Remeber u need to of attended 3 rallies in the last year and one of them must be a jumping rally

C Rally

Hi all

 

It now looks like we have seven candidates forward to take their C test in October half term.  Another training session has been put on next Saturday 22nd September at Town Place starting at 1pm with one hours riding followed by one hours stable management.  The instructor will be Sonia.  Cost for the two hours will be £15.  Please contact me if you wish to attend on either susie.newton@btinternet.com or 07989982886.

Surrey Union Pony Club are hosting an Interbranch showjumping competition at Felbridge on Saturday 13^th October. If you are interested in any of the below please let me have your name, horses name and your date of birth by Saturday 22nd September at the very latest accompanied by your payment in full – cash or cheques made payable to SDHE only (NO BACS for show entries!) Payment is needed in advance of sending entries off.

 

 

Class 6: Dengie Debut Winter League  80cm  - single phase £18.00 + £4.00 first aid

Class 7: 80 - 85cm team and individual – single phase  £18.00 + £4.00 first aid

Class 8: Dengie Winter League 90cm running as single phase  £18.00 + £4.00 first aid

Class 9: 1mt team and individual  £18.00 + £4.00 first aid

Class 10: 1.05 – 1.10 team and individual – single phase £18.00 + £4.00 first aid

 

Rider/horse combinations in class 7 may compete in class 9 as an individual, but not in another team or class 10.

Debut Dengie – combination of horse and rider at not eligible if they have represented their branch at Intermediate or above at the summer area qualifiers, or the PC showjumping final at Hickstead.

Combinations not eligible if they have been placed individually 1 – 6 at the Novice area championships.

Winter league – JA ponies, grade A & B horses registered with BSJ or SJI in current or previous year are not eligible for debut or winter league

I have just taken over organising the C and  C+ rallies from Claire Fry.  St the moment we have a provisional date of the 15th September in the programme.  I am trying to organise something for this date but would be very helpful to have an idea of who many would be able to make this date.  The next C test exam is on the 26th October at East Bysshe in conjunction with the West Kent PC so we don't have long!!

volunteers needed for our mini ode this Sunday please

Hello again everyone!

We are desperately short of volunteers to sit and fence judge for the Mini ODE this coming Sunday.

I'd be very grateful if you could help.  Either morning or afternoon or all day.  It's set to be a beautiful day and what better to avoid the housework than watching all the littles bomb past whilst wondering whether they're in control or not!

No experience is necessary as a full briefing will be done on the day, but you do need to be 18 or over.  You will be fed and watered, so come and sit in your deck chair for a few hours and enjoy the thrills and hopefully not too many spills, of the cross country.

The running of an ODE involves a lot of work and we are therefore needing lots of help to enable this event to be run, and for it to  run smoothly .

On the Saturday we need:              A team to build the show jumping course

                                                        Dressage arena's to be set out

                                                        SJ tack checker                         AM    and      PM                 

                                                        SJ commentator                        AM    and      PM

             Dressage runners                      AM     and      PM

                                                           

             XC refreshment runner               AM      and     PM

 

                                                             

Help with parking on the day  is needed with shifts:

 

At the end of the day:                      Many hands make light work!  We need help with dismantling the

                                                        Show jumps and loading on to trailers to go back to Captains Farm

                                                        Ropes to be taken down

                                                        Course to be de-flagged

                                                        Litter collected.
