I have recently been looking into volunteering opportunities for our members and I am delighted that our branch can now offer the, "Young Equestrian Leaders Award!" 

This would be a wonderful recognition for our members that already regularly volunteer their time, and I hope it will encourage more to do so. It would also look great on their college/university/job application forms!

Livvy Logan is looking for a horse to buy

 we are looking for a new horse for Livvy and would prefer something known to our instructors.  Our criteria is 16-16.2hh, aged between 6-12, must be a good all rounder (SJ, XC, dressage and hacking) with no vices or injuries and open to vetting and x rays. Would prefer a gelding, but would also consider a non-mareish mare.   We have a sensible budget available and can offer a fabulous 6* home for the right horse. Maybe your son/daughter is off to university this year and you are looking for a lovely new PC home for their horse. Windmill Feeds open evening for SDHE members

Windmill Feeds at Cross In Hand are holding an open evening for Pony Club members to purchase all those essentials for camp, on Thursday 16^th July  5.30 – 8.30pm  i.e. saddle soap, mane and tail conditioner, grooming kit, beige jodphurs, hacking jacket etc.

 

There will be 20% off most items, 10% off back protectors and 5% on Point 2 air jackets.

 

Please take some sort of Pony Club ID with you, such as rally card or camp confirmation letter.

17" MW Black Sandringham GP saddle, good condition for its age £120

 

Full size blue bound red numnah excellent condition £8.00

 

English Leather 1" thick black stirrup leathers hardly used £15

 

Adult Stirrup irons with tread £5

 

Colegate Black 15" saddle wide to x wide fit, hardly used sadly doesn't fit any of mine.  Close contact. £200 ono

 

Small childs safety stirrup irons I think they are 4.5" no size on them type with the bend in them £8 (After this weekend will have two pairs of these as need to buy bigger ones for Daisy)

 

5'3" Pink Thermatex rug  bound grey, perfect condition one side.  The other side has surface snags, small tears in the top layer.  Doesn't go all the way through so if you are good at darning will look good or the thermatex patches.   Brought off ebay but doesn't fit any of my ponies - £30.00

 

Black pony Jeffries comfort bridle is padded all over.  Great exercise bridle.  £15.00

English Leather Saddle 16 1/2" Paul Jones

GP / Working Hunter Saddle English made. 

Clean, Good condition, medium / wide fit, newly flocked and measured by master saddler. 

7" D ring to D ring. 2.25" gullet width at rear. 

Was used on my teenage daughter's 14.1hh Irish sports pony (Bally) and fitted them both well and was also comfortable for adult riding. 

It has a few chips on leather on the cantle which were there when I bought it but other wise no significant marks. 

Bally is not easy to fit as he has big shoulders and rump, is fairly wide in summer but shrinks down in winter with fairly low withers but this fit him well. 

Also fit a friend's much flatter backed Connemara (14.3hh) so seems to be a versatile saddle. Happy to let you try it if you come to us to collect or will post. I paid £350 for it in 2012 and asking £250 ono.

Charity clear round jumping to be held at Crockstead

In August our pony club Mum and supporter Heidi Greenwood has volunteered her time to teach at a school in a small fishing village in Malawi. She will be spending a week in the nursery school that teaches up to 170 3-7 year old's without any qualified teaching staff. She will also be spend time in the community hospital and maternity wing supporting an outreach project that offers contraceptive advice to local girls and women; educating children and empowering young girls.

To help raise money for this charity we have organised a Charity Clear Round Day at Crockstead Derby Course.

Please do support this event! Heidi will be commentating on the day, also on the day Equisnaps photographer and Clare Etherington offering mini Equine Therapy and advise!!

Everybody is welcome we really hope to see you all there to support Heidi and this fantastic charity!

By popular request I will be organising a couple of Friday rallies at Wivelsden. 

To Book, please send booking forms or email me names, ages, approx height, There will be three groups max of 5, starting at 5pm on Friday 3rd July and Friday 17th July, please remember we will be jumping in an open field.

I will email you by return to confirm place and time. 

Please could you all be mounted and ready at your allocated time.

Correct Pony Club dress code please, horses to be clean and wearing plain tack.
