All children and accompanyig adults are welcome.  This meet is aimed at introducing the children to hunting with support from all adults.  A step up from the currently organised mini hunt clubs.

Children to be smartly turned out with hacking jackets and PC ties if possible, with ponies plaited.  Do not worry if you are unable to plait or do not have a hacking jacket.

Cap is £10 for children and £15 for all accompanying riding adults.

We have a Christmas rally at Plumpton College on  30th December.  Please dress up if you want!  If you would like to attend, please can you forward rally form and cheque by Wednesday of next week, 21st December, to secure a place.   For E and D test members the form needs to go to Melanie Cammies and for D+ upwards the form needs to go to Jane Walsh. All details on the website. Due to saddlecloths for team events being handed out at competitions and not returned, we are now inviting those who would like to represent our branch as part of a team and interbranch events to purchase their own saddlecloth for use, and to be reponsible for!  These will cost £26.00 to include embroidery.  Please could you let me know by this Sunday, 18th December if you would like me to order one for you and I am more than happy to order them, collect and take to be embroidered and collect from there at no cost to you.  If I can have names by Sunday the order should be done in time for use at our January show.

Hi To All The C Test Members and Parents.

 

Thank you to everyone who joined Sarah and myself at the C Test Rallies this year. I hope you have enjoyed them and well done to the members who passed their C Test in October Half Term.

 

I will not be doing the C Test Rallies in 2017 as for my sins I agreed to take over the organsing of the Eventers Rallies so I hope to see lots of you at them.

 

I have not yet finialised the dates and veunes for the Eventer rallies  but I will do so over the Christmas Holidays and get them out to you all ASAP. Please remember like the C Test Rallies I ran this year members do not have to compete or ever be on a Team. The Rallies will be Open To Everyone to enjoy and have a go at dressage, showjumping and Cross Country with Instruction with heights from Dinky up to Level 5 ( Which is massive and I am not watching any of you go round that !! ).

 

Please try and attend Jo Reffins Flatwork Rallies and Emily and Candys Showjump Rallies as much as possible to get you ready for the Eventing Season. I will for course run some dressage, SJ and XC rallies but the more practice you all get the better.

 

I will also scan the Pony Club websites so any of you who fancy having a go at an event can. THERE IS ONE RULE if we go to any EVENTS someone must make EGG SANDWHICHES !!

Our branch 2 day team jumping show 14th & 15th January 2017

Our branch are hosting their 2 day show jumping event on Saturday 14^th and Sunday 15^th January 2017 at Ardingly showground.

The full schedule is available on our website under "schedules".  Please read carefully and make sure you put your name forward for the correct class/height.  No horse may compete in more than one team.

The mini mini and mini classes + pairs relay are on the Saturday and small novice, novice, intermediate, dengie and puissance on the Sunday.

If you would like to be considered for a place in a team please send names  for the Saturday classes to Emily Pincus and names for the Sunday classes to Candy Robbins so they can co-ordinate the branch entries and payments and avoid having lots of individual requests. We would like to have your names by 12^th December at the latest to get this all sorted before the Christmas break and to give you time to send in your payment to secure the places.

Health & safety officer needed for our branch

Dear All  We have a vacancy on the committee for a Health and Safety officer. This involves updating risk assessments every year on existing venues and carrying out new risk assessments on any new venues.   It is a requirement of headquarters that all venues used by the pony club have to be risk assessed.  Committee meetings are generally held every six weeks.  I know everyone is busy but if you are interested in this role, please get in touch with me.    It is becoming increasingly difficult to find dedicated people to join us in running the branch and it means more and more work is being put upon existing committee members. I have access to a supply of barn stored, 2015 hay. They are the large round bales and they cost £25.00 each including delivery. (Minimum 2 bale delivery)

 

You are more than welcome to visit and inspect the hay in the barn before you purchase. Also, it comes with the guarantee that should you find that you have been delivered a substandard bale, as sometimes happens, a replacement will be arranged for you.

 

The hay is stored in Billingshurst, so the maximum delivery range would be approximately the Haywards Heath area. However, anywhere outside that area would not be a problem, but a delivery fee would need to be negotiated.

Please be sensible and avoid contact with other horses, don't share water buckets and do not touch fences or let your horses graze.

Cars must be parked in the car park, not the lorry park.

 You will be parked by officials, so please wait to be parked. To allow room for parking, side ramps cannot be left down and  horses cannot be tied to the side of box/trailer

 

No haynets to be tied outside of vehicles

Please clear up all droppings, hay and litter

 

If there are any changes please let me know immediately so the organisers can be informed.

We are looking for a first pony for our three daughters, aged 3, 6 and 9 years, either to buy or on loan.  The girls are beginner riders, so we need a calm, well mannered pony, "who has been there and got the T-shirt".  We are seeking a gelding, of no more than 13hh, sound in every way, bomb proof in traffic, happy to live in a herd of other geldings, easy for children to do and have fun with.  The pony will be kept on full livery at a professional livery yard, where his every need will be met.

C Test rally Sat Nov 12th

Hi Everyone

 

Firstly well done to the 7 memebers who passed their C Test last Sunday and are know ready to start their C+ training !! ( Not sure Jess agrees with me about C+ Yet !!)

 

I am running C Test Rallies at 9.30 and 10.30 at Plumpton College next Saturday 12th November and Sunday 11th December.

3 members who had their names down for the rally on monday 24th october which I changed to only the test members would you like to come at 9.30am next sat before I fill the spaces. Please just let me know?

 

Please fill in a form and send me a chq asap if you would like to come next Saturday it would be lovely to see you all and it would give Sarah a chance to see how many of you are serious about doing your test in 2017. (REMEMBER these rallies are open to all members working towards C Test and YOU DO NOT HAVE TO EVER TAKE THE NEXT ) If there are any new  D+ members ( I Know some passed in the Half Term ) who would like to join us that would be great and you can start working towards their C Test for 2018.

Aberystwyth University is the oldest provider of equine university education in the UK and one of very few universities where you can take your horse with you - whatever you study! Their superb livery facilities are within a purpose built teaching unit situated in their Llanbadarn Campus where there are 20 stables available for DIY livery. Well fenced and easily accessible paddocks are close by and the setting is a beautiful one; with mountains behind and a beach to the front. If you don't have a horse of your own that's no problem!
