Branch show help needed please 8th July

SDHE next fund raising event is our annual Branch Show at Plumpton Racecourse on Sunday 8th July

We are looking for help with setting up for this show on Saturday 7th July, 1.00 at the racecourse - there are 4 courses of jumps to be built,  rings to be roped and a handy pony course to be created.  Please could as many of you as possible come to help even for an hour, many hands make light work and will be very much appreciated, especially some strong men wanting to flex their muscles!

We are looking for help on the day with arena party and runners.  As much help at the end of the day in dismantling the rings, taking down jumps and loading of trailers would be most welcome too.

This will be taking place in the outdoor school – please access the arena at the far end  by coming between the school and the buildings and follow the concrete slope down to the school – DO NOT access school through gate nearest lorry park – we do not have this area hired!

LOVELY HAY FOR SALE

We're baling this Sunday 24^th June, and will have top quality small bale meadow hay available from to pick up from field. Sweet grass, no ragwort. Needs to be collected as we will have more than we can store. £3 per bale plus plenty of help with loading. Kingston, near Lewes. I would like to thank everyone who helped at the event on Sunday at Wivelsden.  It was a good day and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.   There is just one point I would like to bring up.  If anyone has a problem or question after an event, please could you either ring or email the show secretary or myself rather than put it on Facebook.  Problems put on Facebook seem to escalate with everyone else chipping in with what they think  sometimes getting it completely wrong. All horses and riders are to be immaculate in their turn out – clean ponies and clean plain tack (no bling!) Riders to wear pony club sweatshirt and tie, white shirt, beige jodphurs, boots and chaps, gloves and hairnets for the girls.  If your hat is not tagged, I can do it for you on the day.

 

Please do not leave ponies unattended tied up to boxes, and please clear up ALL droppings and any spilt hay. 

 

This rally is not just a lesson, but also  an assessment to see what standard you and your pony are at  in order to place you in the correct riding group at camp – it also gives us a chance to pair up people at similar standards and also a chance for you to meet fellow campers. In addition it gives us a chance to make sure your hat is up to standard and tagged as well as checking your tack is in good condition, with no stitching coming undone, and fits your pony correctly.  I hope you all have a fun time and look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Senior Camp

Senior camp forms and payments were due in by 1st JUNE at the latest - as of this evening I am still missing 27 sets!!!!  Please can all that are guilty please put through my door (by hand or by post) by Friday 15th at the very latest as arrangements are on hold until ALL forms are recieved. We are unable to sort ride groups, yards etc which then means transport to Wivelsden and kitchen help rota's cannot be sorted - I am already being asked when parents will know when they are due in to help and I am sorry to say I can't answer that.

Thankyou to all that have got forms back on time, very much appreicated and sorry others are holding things up.
