Programme Organiser

For a mixture of reasons including returning to full time employment Claire Fry has told me she would like to hand over the task of Programme Organiser (PO) to someone else.  Claire is very committed to the branch and she will continue to be heavily involved but focussing more on our main events.
The job is primarily one of planning, coordinating and communication.  We have various organisers who regularly put on rallies and other activities but part of the PO's function is make sure we cover all disciplines, areas and age groups.    Various theories have been advanced over the years concerning the best way to tackle the job including having a single meeting once a year to sort it all out to just placing a lot of calls, sending texts and emails and waiting for replies.  An ability to 'hassle' is a positive advantage (along with a GSOH and infinite patience)!
Our main method of communication is now electronic be that email, website or social networking.  Ideally the PO should be comfortable with modern forms of communication and setting the programme up online does require some very basic knowledge of HTML so it can be 'set' in a table.  Training can be given.
We also know that a printed programme card sent out roughly three times a year is well received by our youngest members so an ability to work with MS Publisher or equivalent is also very helpful.
If this sounds like you and you have a bit of spare time please email me back or contact me on 07979 801420.

I look forward to hearing from, well, someone, please!

Mike J
