Area Showjumping 13th July 2014

Area Show Jumping – 13th July 2014

A little information for the Novice teams, Hazel and Amy who are representing the Branch at the above competition.

The event is being hosted by Mid Surrey Branch  and their venue is: The Pony Club Field, Hurst Road, Walton On The Hill, Surrey. KT20 5BN

Class 1:  Starting promptly at 9.00  - Hazel is 3rd and Amy 4th to jump

Class 3 : Starting promptly at 9.00.  Our team of: Olivia Greenwood, Jessica Copsey, Chloe Fry and Emma Robbins is 8th to go.  The team of: Alex Irwin, Jason Watson, Jasmine Pearce and Will Beldham is 11th to go. The first team will need to walk the course with Sarah at 8.00.  The second team is the first team to go after the 2nd course walk at approx.. 11.30 – not sure how long they are allowing for each team to jump, but that does sound generous.

All competitors are to present, as a team, to the turn out judges at their allocated time – 30 minutes before their jumping time. Hats must be tagged, if you need yours to be tagged take to the secretary (unmounted). A turnout parade will be held before the second round.

All riders will jump 2 rounds and their scores will be added together. The best 3 scores for each team will be added together for the team result. If need be, one nominated rider from each team may have to do a jump off to decide the placings

Competitors must be ready to compete when requested if the competition is running ahead of time, so look out for riders withdrawing and therefore bringing the running order forward.  Sarah will warm both teams up!

Tack and Turnout is strict.  All horses to be plaited and trimmed appropriately. They must be immaculate – no stable/grass stains mud – and of a healthy appearance.  Horses should be well shod, and wearing clean, correctly fitting saddlery in a good state of repair (check stitching on stirrup leathers, girth straps, reins etc. and make sure stirrup irons are big enough for your feet!)

Boots and bandages must be clean and correctly fitted. Make sure all keepers are tucked in.

I will bring team saddle cloths for you on the day.  Tack should be plain, no bling!

Riders to wear hacking jackets with badge on the left lapel. Beige jods, boots, gaiters, pony club tie, gloves, hairnet, white shirt etc.  Hair to be tidy and clothing clean, with a neatly tied tie. Spurs to be clean and correctly fitted.

There will be refreshments and first aid. A farrier and vet will be on call. Remember to bring lots of water for your horses.

Dogs are allowed on a lead and kept under strict control.

If you need any further information, please give me a shout, or I will see you bright eyed and bushy tailed at Walton On The Hill on Sunday morning at about 7.45 – yuk…..

Good luck to everyone and hope you all have an enjoyable and successful day.
