Pony Racing at Lingfield on Monday - VERY IMPORTANT

Hi All

Please note that the Eridge Pony Club race day at Lingfield racecourse on Monday 26th October 2015, will now have Princess Anne going as well.  Due to the need for heightened security anyone wishing to attend must register every person attending at this link http://www.pcuk.org/lingfield/  

Unfortunately if you are not registered you will not be allowed to attend the race day.  Also everyone has to be registered individually..

Unless you and your pony have passed the racing certificate you will not be allowed to enter and race in the races. However last year we did all have great fun watching.

They have all been very successful but we can't run them without your help.  We have bought a new set of very colourful show jumps which we used at the last one day event on 4th October. Hacks alone or in company going first or last. Excellent in the heaviest traffic, good to shoe, box (trailer or lorry), catch (comes when called) .

Tuesdays

There are weekly shooting practices at Taylor's Gun Club in East Court, every Tuesday from 5.30pm until 7.30pm. Guns, pellets and targets are provided. Complete beginners are welcome as full training is given but please ring Margaret Allday (via Nicky Collins) first. Children must be 8 yrs old or over. There is a pool table too!

 

Fridays

There are weekly swimming practices on Friday evenings 6-7pm. They are run by Emily Miles (Bright) who is a past OS&B member, a medal winner at Junior & Senior World Championship level in Modern Pentathlon, and one of four National Pony Club Tetrathlon Mentors. All welcome but book in with Margaret Allday (via Nicky Collins) first. Cost £9 for an hour's lesson.

Achievement badge Friday 9th October - reply to Helen Burgess

Hi 

The first of our winter indoor badge rallies is upon us this Friday 9th October 2015 at Beechwood Village Hall, Cooksbridge from 5.30pm.  

We will be learning all about Paces and there are two badges available for the mini badge for the under 10's and the achievement badge for older members.  This will be useful for children wanting to do their D, D+, C, C+ and B tests.  As the groups will be split.

There is nibbles on offer too...  As I am no good at cake making if anyone wanted to bring cake I'm sure the children as well as the Mums would be delighted.

There are 12 spaces available for the above rally at Felbridge on the all weather jumping surface for those genuinely jumping 2'6 courses and above.

So far, I have received names and payment from Emma Robbins, Maddie Aloof and Shannon Limberger.

 

If you would like a place please post me a completed rally form (download from the website) with a cheque or cash for £7.50 to secure the place. If you do pay by BACS a copy of your transaction must be sent in with your form, and not by e-mail as will still have to be printed off!  There is an additional charge of £10.00 which must be paid in CASH on the day for the hire of the arena.

 

No forms and payment = no place!  Sorry, sounds harsh but we do need to be organised and have the correct information to sort combinations into the correct riding groups, and book instructors accordingly.

East Sussex Pony Club are hosting their team jumping competition at Golden Cross on Sunday 15^th November.

Class 1:  Mini Mini Team and Individual for genuine novices and riders must be 10 years or under on the day of the show.  Assistance may be given by the team manager only, to provide moral support and assistance if the rider needs help, but NOT to be led. If the judge feels this rule has been abused the rider will be eliminated!   Jumps approx.. 50-60cm and will include back rails

No combination of horse/pony and rider may enter in more than one team and no competitor may ride 2 horses in the same team. No horse may compete in more than one team.

All team members are automatically entered for the individual competition.

 

If you are interested in entering either as an individual or being considered to be part of a team, please let us know by 15^th October at the very latest in order to get the selections and paperwork done.

Urgently needed help for ODE this SUnday

We desparately need helpers for the Mini Horse Trials on Sunday. This had to be postponed from last Sunday due to damage caused to the ground in the start field by the loggers working at Wivelsden.  It was impossible to rectify this for last Sunday but it is now being dealt with.  We really don't want to cancel this event and disappoint a lot of people so please give up a few hours to help.  We need the following -  2 Dressage stewards.  Two dressage writers.  Show jumping tack checker/steward.  Arena party to put up show jumps.  Help Saturday morning. Help for this weekend urgently needed

 

Dear All,

 

This is an urgent plea for your assistance. As most of you are aware, due to unfortunate circumstances we had to postpone last weeks O.D.E.

 

We have just been given the ok for it to run this Sunday but this leaves us with very little time to get together a team of fence judges for the event.

 

If any of you have a couple of hours spare this Sunday please could you contact me as a matter if urgency on clairemfry@hotmail.co.uk As always there will be tea and coffee available all day, lunch will be provided and I am certain that we will may even be able to sneak the odd slice of cake in for you as well.

 

Without your help this weekend we will not be able to run this event. This would be a real shame if we had to cancel our last even of the season, especially as we have

been given this second opportunity.
