Pony racing

The Horseracing Certificate returns to British Champions Day!  SATURDAY 17th October

Taking place at QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot Racecourse, The Horseracing Certificate is a chance for Members of The Pony Club to learn more about the amazing equestrian sport of horse racing.

Starting from 10.30am you can go on a behind the scenes tour of one of the world's most prestigious racecourses, including visiting the paddock, going onto the track and a peek inside the weighing room.

You will be able to meet a racehorse, learn what breed they are and find out what makes them such special athletes.

Go to jockey school and have a bite size lesson on a racehorse simulator with a jockey coach, and practise riding like a jockey.

Learn about the different tack used by racehorses and jockeys on a raceday.

You will also receive a QIPCO British Champions Day goody bag which will include a British Champions Day Pony Club T shirt and pin badge.

Last year we had great fun at Lingfield and the above event looks to be as much fun if not more so as the members will be given an insight into areas of racing that they will unlikely have again.  Children are free for this day and as the event is hugely popular I have provisionally reserved for the branch 10 spaces.  The tickets for adults however are £30 each unless we get a group of 10 or more and then the price will come down to £25 each.  Unfortunately, despite knowing someone who works at Ascot I was unable to secure any other sort of discount!!!!

There is top racing this day with some of the top jockeys.  There are guided tours as above which will be truly amazing.

If you are interested in going please can you email me your childs full name and age.  As an adult could you confirm how many tickets you would like to purchase for the day?  My email address is: helenkaya@harpercraven.com.

I do need to know numbers by Friday 11th September 2015.

On Monday 26th October Eride Pony Club are hosting their pony club race day at Lingfield Racecourse.  This is a free event with the first race starting at 12pm.  If you would like to go along to this day again please can you email me your details and how many people?

Many thanks

Helen Burgess-Dinleyici
