Tetrathlon

Well done to all those who competed at the Mid Surrey TET on Sunday. After the initial snow (!) the weather was very kind to us. I would recommend this event to anyone thinking of trying Tetrathlon in the future. It is a very friendly & helpful event. It is also very easy to get to as straight up the M23, then jct 8 of M25 – it took my 50mins from my house in Wivelsfield. The jumping for the under 8s is cross poles in an arena and the XC for the other classes is very kind with plenty of alternatives. Ethan Collins on Harry got around clear at his first proper XC at Mini Boys level (under 12 years) which is up to 80cm. However, at Mid Surrey most of the course was 60cm with only a few larger or more difficult fences which had alternatives. Riders can always opt to jump a smaller size course, which is the class below them, for a small penalty: this is quite common especially for riders who have just moved up an age bracket.
